Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Boise.

And with the race-track proven SRT and off-roading wonder Trailhawk trim level also available, you will find that there is plenty to go over with this diverse array of options. That is precisely what we intend to do, with a top to bottom review of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and everything that this new Jeep model has to offer you right here in our showroom.

The Return of The Trailhawk and the Stunning Force of the SRT

The Trailhawk transitions back into the Jeep Grand Cherokee lineup after a three year departure, fitting back into the middle of the trim level collection with just the Overland, Summit and SRT ahead of it. This Jeep model comes with off-roading gear such as skid plates, Goodyear adventure all-terrain 18-inch tires, tow hooks and much more for a well-equipped journey onto rocky terrain, sandy dunes and over snow-covered landscapes. With Jeep's renowned 4x4 system-Quadra Drive II-along with the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system, you will be able to enjoy traction over a variety of surfaces where control isn't such a natural thing.

Do you see yourself fitting in better over stripes lines and around narrow pavement turns? You will love what the SRT can show off out on the racetrack. With a 6.4-liter V8 engine that uses 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet to reach 60 miles in just 4.8 seconds, this trim level can hit 100 miles per hour from a stop in just 16.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 miles per hour. And with eight different driving modes depending upon your plans for the day, along with launch control for a pristine start off of the line, you have plenty of features in this model to influence your driving experience.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Engine Options, Tow Packages and Driving Expectations

Four engine options are included for the Jeep Grand Cherokee depending upon the model that you select and the respective transmission that you include. With a standard Jeep Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission, you can enjoy 295 horsepower, 260 pound-feet and 6,200 pounds of towing capacity. This engine promotes a smooth ride quality and plenty of efficiency to limit your gas station stops, with a start and stop system when resting as one of many innovative features.

The 5.7-liter V8 hemi engine comes as an option for the Limited, Overland and Summit four-wheel drive models. This powertrain produces 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet, while towing a strenuous 7,200 pounds. While efficiency may dip slightly, you get to enjoy a riveting level of force with this configuration underneath the hood. A 6.4-liter V8 engine is an option for the SRT, taking these expectations to an entirely new place as well.

Finally, we have the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 engine as an option for the upper-tier Limited, Trailhawk, Overland and Summit models. Horsepower in this model drops to 240, while torque explodes up to 420 pound-feet and an equal tow rating to the hemi engine. Great for fuel economy and interstate trailering, this is a well-rounded choice for you to consider.

Tow packages include the Trailer-tow Group IV, utilizing a Quadra-Lift air suspension, heavy-duty engine cooling system, a receiver hitch, wiring harness and much more.

Features, Drivetrains and Package Options of the Jeep Grand Cherokee

Standard features of the Jeep Grand Cherokee cover more than just the bare-bones basics that you may have expected, starting with a rearview camera, hill-start assist and rear-parking sensors for you to enjoy more visibility and safety when parking or starting up your SUV in a tough spot. Dual-zone climate control, trailer sway control, keyless entry and ignition and 60/40 split-folding rear seats can also be found in every model. The Limited adds even more fun, with a power-rear tailgate for grocery hauling, heated seats in both front rows and memory seating for added comfort. Available packages such as the Jeep Active Safety Group add driver-assist technology into the mix as well.

Quadra-Trac I four-wheel drive comes as an option for base Laredo models, with the next four trim levels receiving the choice of a Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive system that combined a two-speed transfer case and hill-descent control. For the Trailhawk and SRT, you can choose to add Quadra-Drive II and active on-demand all-wheel drive respectively.

The Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee bears mention as well, as your entertainment is advanced yet simplified for ease of use with this configuration.
